Our own struggles with manual sales are what inspired Redcar. After selling my prior startups to Google and Zynga, I went through Y Combinator with my restaurant SaaS startup Taste. A big part of the YC experience was the rite of passage of brute-forcing sales. We were taught to do account research and personalize hundreds of outbound messages by hand. It never felt like the best use of time, but when we hired someone who claimed they could help, they only got us a single meeting. Luckily, technology advances were finally making a new approach viable.
My co-founders CJ, Ben Wu, and I bonded over a big realization: together, we could make sales professionals superhuman with AI. Ben has worked on automation since college and built an app that scaled to millions of users; CJ fell in love with go-to-market at BCG and launched xxxM+ revenue plan for new market expansion; Jeff built Skyvi the largest AI Assistant on Android before Google acquired it and helped to launch the Google Assistant.
